Integrations Lead sources

Angi leads come with a temporary number. Here’s how to call them.

Angi Leads, formerly HomeAdvisor, matches each homeowner request with up to five pros and charges you per lead. Leads land in the Angi app, and Angi’s team can send them to another tool by webhook. The phone number on each lead is temporary, and Angi’s 2025 help pages say it expires 30 days after the lead arrives.

Angi will hand you the lead. It won’t hand you the homeowner’s number, and it won’t send the lead to another tool until you ask. Sort out those two things and the AI Agent calls every Angi lead during your call hours. Your reps get the homeowners who pick up, live on the line.

An Angi lead only reaches Callingly when Angi’s team switches it on

Angi has two ways to send leads out. If your CRM has a tile under My business > Integrations, you click Connect and Angi sends it every lead. For anything else, you email Angi’s integrations team, and then, in Angi’s words, “our team will connect the integration for you.” In other words, you don’t wire this up yourself. Angi’s people do.

Callingly takes the email route: Angi’s team points your leads at Callingly’s webhook, and step 2 below has what to put in that email. Angi can also send a test lead, as long as your account got at least one lead in the last 30 days. This page is about Angi Leads. Angi Ads, the old Angie’s List product, is set up separately.

The number on the lead isn’t the homeowner’s

Angi gives each lead its own temporary phone number, good for 30 days from when you receive the lead. To call or text homeowners through it, Angi says you “first need to connect at least one preferred business number” in your Angi account.

So the step is to add the AI Agent’s number in Angi. One catch is that on a new account the AI Agent doesn’t have a single number. It calls from whichever of the team’s numbers is closest to the lead’s area code, and texts from one of those too. So connect all of them, plus the phone of any rep who calls Angi leads back. Step 4 below has the list.

Angi doesn’t publish what its webhook sends, so the test lead is how you’ll see whether the phone field holds the temporary number or the real one. Plan for the temporary one, and get the real number before day 31: make “What’s the best number to reach you?” one of your qualifying questions. The answer sits in the call’s transcript, so the rep who calls back next month dials a number that works. And if your followup sequence runs longer than 30 days, end it at day 30.

Angi may have already called. Call anyway.

Angi’s terms let it send the homeowner an automated, prerecorded call confirming their request. Homeowners can also share times they’re free to talk, and Angi Assistant texts those times to you. Those times don’t come through with the lead. Asked whether call requests reach your CRM through the integration, Angi’s answer is “Not at this time.” So the AI Agent never sees them.

Don’t wait for them. Angi says that even when a homeowner asks for a time, you can contact them “whenever you’d like,” and it recommends calling each lead within 15 minutes. It has also put the stakes plainly: “The majority of closed leads are won by the first pro to contact the homeowner.” That’s the race you’re in with every other pro on the request, so we’d let the AI Agent call the moment the lead lands, inside your call hours. If the homeowner would rather talk later, it offers a callback. And when Angi Assistant texts you a time the homeowner chose, confirm it and have a rep call then.

Five steps to get Angi leads called

  1. In Callingly, add a Webhook integration and pick the team that should get your Angi leads. Copy its webhook URL.
  2. Email [email protected] your Angi ID, the email address to connect, that URL, and confirmation that it accepts JSON. Callingly’s key is already part of the URL, so let Angi’s team tell you if they need anything else.
  3. Ask Angi for a test lead, then set Callingly’s phone field to the field name Angi uses for the phone number. Only the phone number is required. Name and email are nice to have.
  4. In your Angi account, connect every Callingly number on the team that gets Angi leads (or every number on your account, if that team has none of its own), plus any rep’s phone that calls Angi leads back. Check that each one shows under Connected numbers.
  5. Add “What’s the best number to reach you?” to the AI Agent’s qualifying questions.

What happens on the call

As soon as an Angi lead reaches Callingly, the AI Agent calls the number on the lead and can text in the same sequence. It only does this inside your call hours and between 8 AM and 9 PM in the lead’s time zone (or your account’s, if you’ve set it that way). It asks your qualifying questions, then warm-transfers the live homeowner to the available reps in your first priority group. If nobody there picks up, it tries the next group, then offers a callback at a time the homeowner picks.

If the homeowner doesn’t answer, the followup sequence keeps calling and texting on your schedule until it runs out. Nobody has to remember which Angi lead from last Tuesday still needs a call.

Buy from Networx too? Networx leads reach Callingly through Zapier and get called the same way. Here’s the rest of a home-services company’s lead flow. For requests that land at night, see after-hours home-services leads. Every other lead source and CRM is on the integrations page.

Angi lead questions

Does Angi send my lead to other pros?

Yes, to as many as four other pros. Angi says that each time a homeowner submits a project request, “we will match them with no more than five pros,” and the exact number depends on the type of lead and where the work is. You’ll see “3 to 8 contractors” quoted around the web, but five is the cap Angi itself sets.

Can I get the homeowner’s real phone number?

Not from Angi. The temporary number is there to protect the homeowner’s privacy, and Angi’s advice is to ask homeowners for their direct number. When you call through the temporary number, the homeowner sees your real business number, while texts go through the temporary one. Step 5 above sets the AI Agent up to get the direct number on the first call.

How much does a lead on Angi cost?

Angi doesn’t publish prices. It says lead fees change with the task, the homeowner’s location and demand for the work. Angi’s Q2 2026 filing works out to about $45 of U.S. revenue per lead, but that figure blends lead fees with services and membership revenue across every trade, so it isn’t a price for yours.
